Thank you to our graduating students who have already completed the Mason exit survey.  Your responses and comments are very helpful to us in planning and we especially appreciate hearing about your experiences and plans for the future.  For those who have not yet completed the survey, please go to:https://assessment.gmu.edu/ExitSurvey.html where you can complete the survey online or download a paper copy.

The 48th annual George Mason University commencement is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Patriot Center.  The complete schedule of all graduation ceremonies will be posted soon. Graduates are requested to arrive at the North Plaza, near the George Mason statue, for assembly promptly at 8:45 a.m. on May 16th. Patriot Center doors open for guests at 9:00 a.m. The ceremony begins at 10:00 a.m. and lasts approximately two hours.

2015 Commencement Fair:  March 3, 4 and 5 – Fairfax Campus Bookstore

This is an opportunity to purchase your cap and gown, pick up your Commencement tickets and purchase diploma covers/announcements all at the same time

Interested in competing to be the Student Commencement Speaker?

Comm 440: Special Occasion Speaking is the course for you!

This course provides an introduction to the various types of special occasion speeches designed to meet the following purposes: entertain, celebrate, commemorate, inspire, or set a social agenda; special attention will be given to the commencement address.  Students will analyze sample speeches (text and video performances) as well as present several special occasion speeches.

The final special occasion speech assignment will be an audition for selection of the George Mason University 2014 “Student Commencement Speaker.”​
